Jewish militancy in North America, most notable expressed through groups like the Jewish Defense League, has traditionally been associated with rightwing politics.
But could this be the result of how Jews have been positioned in Western societies and – on a deeper level – part of how systemic anti-Semitism operates?
As Diaspora Jews begin to feel increasingly under siege and the need for organizing to defend their communities becomes more apparent, would these new defense formations resisting the positioning of their people within these societies serve as a deeper layer of resistance against Jewish oppression?
