Jerusalem

I have been filled with longing

For golden stone and cobbled streets

For prayer and dance by the Holy of Holies

I have been yearning

With a people centuries’ old

For a land of promise

A home of hope

I have been praying

For the call to our hearts to grow loud

And the clamor of the world

To turn to ambient sound

I have been aching

For barren army bases

And for every tear

To be wiped from our faces

I have been seeking

The Third Temple

Standing tall on Har HaBayit

That hallowed place where

The sun bathes us in the warmest light

Where children laugh

And swords are laid down without a fight

When brothers will be brothers once again

And the world will be one with no end
