Shadowed Dreams

Shadowed Dreams

A shadow cast on a dream,
a purist’s nightmare.

The heretic sees black, the delusional, white.
Prophecy silenced in shades of grey.

Like dreamers, arise! We willed the dream.
Like dreamers, dream bigger.

Woken by blasts of an unholy war,
Put to sleep at the sound of the rocket’s red glare.

A stolen crown lies awake,
A lion’s slumber, undisturbed, as the eagle soars.

The shadow looms large.
Dreams dreamt awake.

Dreams on a rock.
Rocks on a dream.

In the long shadow, sleep evades.
In the long shadow, the shadow is light.

White darkness pierces and blinds,
The insomniac dreams of nightmares.

Fire engulfs the seer.
Its heat bothers the sleeper.
