Too few contemporary Jews are familiar with the heroic struggle to free Judea from ancient Rome.

During the period between the 17th of Tammuz & the 9th of Menaḥem Av, it’s important to learn the story of the Great Revolt and about the various Zealot factions that led the struggle for freedom against Rome.

What was the Zealot Movement?

Was it founded in the Galilee following the death of King Herod, as Josephus claims?

Or was it the continuation of something much older in Judean society?
