Black Holes

Black hole

If man is a microcosm of the universe
then black holes exist inside him too

It’s never hard to fall
it’s even inviting
just a simple step into
blissful oblivion,
gently sliding
gradually slipping
eventually spiralling

And when you try to hit the brakes
To claw back towards the daylight
The hand they extended you tightens
to a fist,
Yanking your limbs like a puppet on strings
deeper into the darkness,
Sapping your will to escape
Weaving a vicious spiral
to hold you fast
Science says it is possible to fall
towards the centre of a black hole forever

But the soul’s power is infinite
Nothing can stand in its path
Its light can guide you out
If one only chooses to follow it
Aat Uletamid

Maybe man is a microcosm of the universe,
But the universe is surrounded
by a supernal light

Should we only open our lives to it
the black holes will not dissipate
but they will pale by comparison
